The seven rarity bands

Build a Base and Steal’s Egg Mystery hologram drops pets in seven rarity bands, from Common (the floor) to Secret (the ceiling). The bands are confirmed by ProGameGuides, AllThings. How, and earnaldo’s hub. Per-rarity drop rates are not officially published — the wiki refuses to fabricate percentages, so the bands are listed below without probability claims.

Common — Tier 1

  • Cat — baseline cash/second producer. Always available in the launch egg.
  • Chicken — the second Common pet most beginners unlock.
  • Swift Runner — speed-themed Common; reported as the third starter Common.

Common pets are the floor of the Egg Mystery roll. Two placed Common pets are the R1 Rebirth requirement.

Uncommon — Tier 2

  • Cobra — snake-themed Uncommon; reported by community trackers as the second R2 pet.
  • Mid-tier Common variations — variations of the Common pets with slightly higher $/s.

Rare — Tier 3

  • First published Rare-tier pet — community sources name one Rare but disagree on the exact label. Treat the Rare band as confirmed and the named pet as a scenario.
  • Aura slot unlocks at Rare — the Rare tier is the first band where pets gain an aura slot (aura content itself is a placeholder).

Epic — Tier 4

  • One to two named pets; community trackers disagree on the exact roster. Treat the Epic band as confirmed, the named pets as scenario.

Legendary — Tier 5

  • One published Legendary-tier pet reported by community trackers. The 5× luck multiplier of Legendary is documented but the specific pet label is not consistently named across sources.

Mythic — Tier 6

  • Two named Mythic pets reported by AllThings. How; treat the band as confirmed and the pet list as community-reported until a developer source confirms.

Secret — Tier 7

  • Anniversary and event-exclusive Secret pets. The Secret band is confirmed to exist; the specific pet labels are not stable across events.

Aura slot placeholder

Every Rare-or-higher pet has an aura slot. The aura system itself is not documented in the launch build — the slot exists but the aura list is a placeholder. Aura effects are treated as unknown on this wiki until replayable fun games publishes the aura table.

What the wiki deliberately omits

To preserve trust:

  • No per-rarity drop rates. The Egg Mystery hologram’s percentages are not published. The wiki lists the bands, not the rates.
  • No invented pet labels. If two community trackers disagree on a name (e.g. the second Rare pet), the wiki reports the band as confirmed and the name as scenario.
  • No aura effects. The aura slot exists but the contents are unknown.

If a future developer source publishes per-rarity drop rates or the aura table, the wiki will be updated.

How to plan around the unknown rates

  • Use the +Luck boost on your first roll. Codes like VOLCANOO (+4 Luck) skew the roll toward Rare/Epic. The boost fades after 5–10 minutes.
  • Park two Common pets minimum. Even if the rates are unfavorable, two Common pets are the R1 Rebirth requirement and a guaranteed cash/second producer.
  • Save Mythic / Secret rolls for biweekly events. Event-exclusive Secret pets drop during the developer’s Saturday updates.

  • AFK Income and Cap — model how your pet roster produces offline cash under the 10/20/30 DR bands.

Frequently asked questions

How many pets are there in Build a Base and Steal?

Seven rarity bands (Common → Secret), with three to five named pets per band reported by community trackers. Per-rarity drop rates are not officially published.

What's the best pet in the game?

Secret-tier pets are the rarest and strongest cash/second contributors, but their $/s is not officially documented. The wiki lists every named pet by tier; verify before treating any community post as authoritative.

Do pets have auras?

Aura slots exist on each pet but the aura itself is treated as a placeholder until replayable fun games publishes the aura list. Treat aura effects as unknown.

Can I trade pets?

The launch build does not publish a player-to-player trade route. Pets move between players through the steal loop, not through direct trade.
